 620 Huxley |
Built in the country in 1894 and converted to a duplex in the 1960's. Huxley Manor is the original rental upon which the Empire was built. |
 1122 1124 Empress |
Built around 1915 this house as the sister house beside it was converted to multiple housing during the housing shortage after the war. It is an up and down duplex. The closest elementary school would be George Jay. Victoria High and Central Middle school are both in walking distance. This is a non-smoking building. Pets are welcome with a pet agreement. |
 1126 1128 Empress |
This house has been restored to the original wood siding. Very few changes have been made to the original house built about 1915. The conversion to a duplex was likely made during the housing shortage after the War. This is a non-smoking house. Pets are welcome with the pet agreement. |
 1132 Empress |
This up and down duplex was once covered in crispy tiles. It was lovingly brought back to wooden siding in 1996. The house uses forced air furnace. At present there is one smoker in the building. Once he leaves this will be a nonsmoking house. Pets with a pet agreement and pet security deposit are welcome as long as they can get along with everybody. The main floor is about to undergo a major renovation beginning February 2010. Coin-op in the mingy basement. |
 2003 Cameron |
Built on a narrow lot on a little dead end street this house has lots of character. Not a square box apartment! It is an interesting little street. Most homes are owner occupied. It is close enough to walk to town, yet seems far enough away from the busy tempo of the city. Pets are welcome with the pet agreement. Dogs, cats, reptiles, birds and insects are welcome. Non-smoking of course. |
 1620 Camosun Street |
A Multi unit building, hosting character and modern features in the same space. 1620 Camosun is one block off of Fernwood between Grant and Balmoral. The location is great for Vic High and Central Middle school. Coin-op washer and dryer on site. The back lawn is all parking. Lawn parking? Yes. No one parks there and the grass has grown up through the gravel. I guess that you could also say this location is great for people who don't want to drive cars. A good location for pets too. |
 1925 Stanley St |
This is the place in Fernwood with the "cat stairs". The building is located in the "heart of Fernwood" one block off Fernwood at Gladstone and Stanley. The house was built in 1911 and is of good solid construction. It still has a forced air furnace which is originally why this is a non-smoking house. Pets are welcome with a pet agreement and pet security deposit. This house could easily be restored to 6 bedroom, 5 bath house, with livingroom, family kitchen, dinning room plus full basement.

 845 Princess Ave |
Built in 1912 by Alderwoman Maggie Christie as a boarding house. It would have been hard work for a woman and her hired girl to run this building. The house was converted to housekeeping and self contained apartments in 1925. There have been a few improvements in the plumbing since then! There is a limited amount of extra storage in basement. Coin-op washer and dryer downstairs, along with the recycling center and bike parking. The location is close to the Crystal Pool and within walking distance to town. A camera in the front hallway plays on the cable TV. Pets are accepted with a pet agreement. Smoking is not permitted in any common areas or within 3 meters of the front door. |
